Santos Manuel Student Union (SMSU) serves as a central hub where students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, and guests can build lasting connections with the campus. They have seven sub-departments that are part of the Student Support Centers and Resources, including the Financial Literacy Center, Student Recreation & Wellness Center, Osher Adult Re-Entry Center, Adventure Center, and Graduate Student Success Center. Affinity Centers are the Pan-African Student Success Center, the LatinX Center, the First Peoples' Center, Queer and Transgender Resource Center (QTRC), the Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA) Center, the Undocumented Student Success Center, and the Women's Resource Center. Lastly, but not least, the Rancho Mirage Student Center from the Palm Desert Campus of CSUSB has collaborated with the SMSU Marketing Department.
As a student assistant graphic designer at SMSU, I collaborated with various departments to help bring their visions to life by creating promotional materials for both print and digital platforms. These promotional events bring together students, faculty, professors, department heads, and alumni to learn about various topics, including cultural awareness, educational, and career discussions, while also offering fun and exciting indoor/outdoor activities outside of the discussions.
