Problem
The deaf community lacks sufficient educational activities for 1st- to 3rd-grade classrooms and homeschool settings that support learning through both English writing and ASL fingerspelling, leaving a critical gap in accessible, targeted learning resources.
Solution
Including fingerspelling recognition, ASL fluency, and letter skills in the Solar System activities improves writing and language skills and enhances the overall learning experience.
Each planetary character is designed with a name sign and ASL fingerspelling to clearly convey its identity. The accompanying text is presented in both English and Spanish.
Outcome
This results in a good practice for those who need to improve their ASL fluency, fingerspelling recognition, and letter skills. Another benefit of using these activities is that Deaf teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals can use them to teach and engage with their Deaf/Hard of Hearing/KODA students and clients.

- KIDSZONE font embodies a vibrant, playful display style, reminiscent of colorful chalk writing on a blackboard, especially in solar spaces. It is utilized for headers and subheadings.
Elements
The planets of the solar system serve as the main characters, creating fun, friendly, and playful illustrations. Each planet's name will convey its identity. The illustrations will have a crayon-drawing texture to evoke the feeling of being drawn by a child.

These Solar System Collection activities include: a full 24x18" solar system wall poster, a full 11x8.5" mini solar system worksheet, 8.5x11" 15 single-planet coloring worksheets, a sticker sheet (one with planets and another with English labels and ASL finger spelling), 11x8.5" three solar system worksheets in two versions, and a 4x4" 12 individual planet stickers.
