The Backstory
Three Affinity Centers from SMSU (Santos Manuel Student Union) — the Pan African Success Center, the First Peoples Center, and the Queer and Transgender Resource Center — organized a significant cultural and tattoo art event featuring professional tattoo artists from across the Inland Empire, California. Students had the opportunity to learn and participate in this event. Students (18 years and older) are permitted to opt for tattoo sessions with skilled professional artists. The event is centered on celebrating diverse individuals and their cultural backgrounds in relation to the art of tattooing. They requested promotional events to advertise this event across the campus, such as various sizes of event posters, aftercare instructions, and "Guess The Tattoo" posters, as well as social media and screen-based advertising. The Tattoo Art Expo's promotional materials serve as the centerpiece of design for professional artists, alumni, department heads, staff, faculty, guests, and students.
During my tenure at the SMSU Marketing Department, I developed and executed promotional events for various media platforms. This included designing posters of various sizes and producing digital designs for platforms such as social media, web, and both screen-based advertising and electric marquees on the campus. The tattoo theme approach is dark and colorful, featuring tattoo elements and images of professional artists.
