Gunworld & Archery is an Elko-based small business that specializes in hunting firearms, handguns, bows, knives, and archery gear in Nevada.
Challenge
They looked for a graphic designer to help create a new logo that reflected the essence of their hunting business, which offers hunting equipment, accessories, uniforms, and weapon supplies. I was referred to the Gunworld & Archery client by Jeremy Failing who I collaborated with both. This project was completed in 2013 during the commissioning phase with the Gunworld & Archery client.
Solution
I created a logo that reflects the overall symbolism of the products that Gunworld & Archery sells at their shop. What came to mind for a logo idea are the cartridges and broadhead arrow, as they could mean any type, from a knife to a weapon. I decided to incorporate negative space to make the logo more interesting and help it stand out against the dark, graphic background. The orange tip of the bullet represents a type of hunting ammunition.
Outcome
My client liked my proposal and how the logo in negative space stood out. They have used this logo on their promotional materials, including accessories, products, uniforms, equipment, and weapons. However, the wordmark/font type had changed to their preference.
