Big 'O' Donuts is a grab-and-go food truck brand designed for people with fast-paced and busy lifestyles that serves delicious donuts and tasty coffee. This is located in Los Angeles, where the Big 'O' Donuts truck serves in real time.
This project developed a comprehensive visual identity that includes a logo, brand identity, color palette, typography, packaging, uniforms, and mobile application designs. Each responsibility is assigned to an individual to carry out specific tasks. I was tasked with creating brand identity, logo design, typography, food truck wraps, uniforms, and mobile application designs.
Big 'O' Donuts is a startup business selling donuts by setting up a local food truck based in Los Angeles and eventually scaling to storefronts.
Problems
Since it will be located in Los Angeles, competitors such as Krispy Kreme, Voodoo Doughnut, Yum Yum Donuts, The Donut Man, Donut Friend, Randy's Donuts, and many others are in LA. Big 'O' Donuts can gain a competitive advantage by being unique, setting up in great locations, real-time and easy ordering service. They need marketing and brand identity strategies to stand out from other competitors. Since a moving truck in real time can be frustrating and waste time, Big 'O' Donuts needs to develop real-time and easy ordering for customers to engage, locate it nearby, and place orders on the way.
Solutions
• Build a playful, consistent brand experience.
• Created a user persona representing Big 'O' Donuts' typical customers to pinpoint key behaviors, motivations, and pain points.
• Create a friendly and modern visual identity.
• Craft a strong typographic hierarchy to balance the typography, character brand, and brand.
• Build a cohesive grid system to unify the brand, marketing collertal and ensure consistency across all platforms and print.
• Build a mobile application using Figma to design and create a fun interface for easy ordering, streamline checkout, a dynamic menu, and add real-time GPS tracking to reduce location confusion and wait times
• Create a menu featuring donuts and beverages made with the highest-quality ingredients, including special donuts that are allergy-friendly, vegan, and gluten-free to better serve consumers with health conditions.
I have refined the brand identity and logo design to enhance them, applying best practices from my graphic design experience.
